Teen Punched Multiple Times in Columbia Heights iPhone Robbery
A teenage boy lost his iPhone 6 Plus to two thieves in a violent robbery in Columbia Heights last night, police said.
The crime happened on the 1300 block of Irving Street NW about 6 p.m. The block is between the DC USA retail development and Tubman Elementary School.
The victim was walking in the area when two men approached him from behind, according to authorities. One of the men then punched him.
The teen felt someone snatch his cellphone from his jacket pocket soon after. One of the men then punched the victim in his left eye while ordering the teen to disclose his iPhone’s passcode.
But the teenager refused, and the men ran away with the phone.
Police said they’re looking for:
2 B/M, Suspect 1: black shirt, khaki pants, high top fade, light complexion. Suspect 2: Dark complexion, black shirt, khaki pants, high top fade.
