Adams Morgan residents will have a chance next month to get a plot in Kalorama Park to garden.

The coordinators of the Kalorama Community Garden on Saturday, March 12, are scheduled to hold a lottery for three spots that are open in the 22-plot garden. Registration starts at 10 a.m. at the garden near Columbia and Kalorama roads NW, with the lottery beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Only locals who live in the area east of Connecticut Avenue NW, south of Calvert Street NW, west of 18th Street NW and north of Florida Avenue NW can participate. Any local who wins the lottery must show proof of residency and pay $25 in cash to secure a plot.

“Competition will be stiff,” the garden coordinators wrote in an email to neighbors today.
