BBQ Joint Could Open on 14th St. Friday, Earlier Than Expected
BBQ Joint could be slinging pulled pork, ribs and turkey at 14th and U streets NW as early as this Friday.
Company representative Tricia Barba said Chef Andrew Evans was “playing it by ear” but hopes to soft-open the barbecue eatery on Friday. BBQ Joint was previously slated to open by March 1.
A walk through BBQ Joint’s menu reveals pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, full racks of ribs, beef sausage and smoked turkey breast. Other menu items include sloppy joe sliders, skillet mac and cheese and smoked tofu chili, and patrons will be able to order beers and cocktails at the bar.
The restaurant will also come with a few gimmicks. Evans told Washingtonian that the eatery will have a Frito pie to-go window. He also told the Washington City Paper that it will feature a red light that would go off to patrons know when the ribs are at their peak.
