Anthony Bowen YMCA to Host Georgian Cooking Class
Locals looking to brush up on their international cooking skills can do so at the Anthony Bowen YMCA (1325 W St. NW) next Thursday at 7 p.m.
The recreation center will serve as host to a Georgian cooking class put on by The Georgian Table, a local blog dedicated to sharing the cuisine and culture of the Eastern European country.
During the hands-on class, attendees will learn the proper way to bake a buttery Ajaran khachapuri (pictured above); mushroom chakapuli, or aromatic stew with white wine and mounds of fresh tarragon; and leek pkhali, which is a walnut and herb spread.
Tickets cost $25 for Y members, $35 for nonmembers, and all proceeds help support programs at the YMCA.
