U Street’s Bread Bite Bakery to Open Tomorrow With Free Samples

Bagels, baguettes and cupcakes are set to arrive on U Street tomorrow.

Bread Bite Bakery is set to open in the former CakeLove space at 1506 U St. NW with free samples tomorrow morning, said Bread Bite owner Jorge Prudencio.

“We are thinking that we’re giving away something for free. A lot of samples,” Prudencio said. “Bread with hummus. Bread with dressings that we use on the sandwiches. Bagels with cream cheese. Cupcakes, cannolis, eclairs, stuff like that.”

Patrons will be able to buy bagels, sandwiches, baguettes and baked desserts once the shop opens its doors.

Prudencio added that he’s excited about the grand opening, despite “a lot of pressure” on the business.
