(Updated at 10:58 a.m.) Look closely in the next season of HBO’s “Veep” and you’ll see a familiar Dupont Circle business.
A faux presidential motorcade was seen parked at Kramerbooks (1517 Connecticut Ave. NW) in photos posted yesterday to the bookstore and cafe’s social media accounts.
“That’s one good looking motorcade,” Kramerbooks tweeted. “Ready for our close-up! Thanks, VEEP!” the bookstore added in a Facebook post.
Kramerbooks events director Sarah Baline said that the show was filming exterior shots for a scene in the upcoming season. The business was decked out in red ribbons, snowflakes and holiday wreathes.
“The art department arrived in the morning to decorate the store,” Baline said. “The film crew came by later in the afternoon to shoot the fake motorcade and get some establishing shots.”
“Everyone from the ‘Veep’ team was great and we can’t wait to see ourselves in episode 6 of season 5,” she added.
Several passersby also spotted the shoot setup and tweeted about it:
