Jimmy John’s to Set Up Shop in Columbia Heights This Spring

The “freaky fast” purveyor of “freaky fresh” sandwiches is slated to arrive in Columbia Heights in the coming months.

Jimmy John’s is scheduled to open on the 3200 block of 14th Street NW in a storefront abutting the Columbia Heights Civic Plaza in May, company spokesman Nathan Louer told Borderstan yesterday.

The space previously held a Julia’s Empanadas that closed in 2013, according to local blog PoPville, which first noted a Jimmy John’s might open there.

Jimmy John’s currently has three D.C. locations, including a shop at 1101 14th St. NW. It also is set to open an outpost on the U Street corridor this spring.
