(Updated at 7:06 p.m.) Locals will once again be able to gather for a drink in the building that once held landmark U Street bar Stetson’s. Or at least, that’s the current plan.

A new tavern called “Exiles” is in the works at 1610 U St. NW, said a representative from TeemNow, LLC, the company behind the forthcoming bar.

Stephen Fedorchak, co-owner of Lyon Hall, Northside Social and The Liberty Tavern, is a partner in TeemNow LLC, according to a filing with D.C.’s Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA). Donagh Gilhooly, Daniel Price and Brian Hillery, three employees of O’Sullivan’s Irish Pub in Arlington, are also named as partners of the company.

The TeemNow representative we spoke with declined to provide more information about Exiles, adding only that the company has been “working hard on the buildout and are quite excited to become part of the community” and will make an announcement about the new bar closer to its opening date.

No additional information could be gleaned from the company’s recently created Facebook and Twitter pages, and it was immediately unclear when the bar might open.
