Philly’s Village Whiskey Moves Closer to Opening in Blagden Alley
The restaurant group behind a popular Philadelphia bourbon bar has moved closer to opening another outpost in the District.
A recent filing with ABRA reveals that The Garces Group — the company behind Philadelphia’s Village Whiskey, Rural Society (1177 15th St. NW) and more than a dozen other eateries — has applied for a liquor license for a forthcoming Village Whiskey location in Blagden Alley.
The license reads:
New full-service American restaurant with 62 interior seats. Total Occupancy Load is 148. Rooftop Summer Garden.
Village Whiskey is a bourbon bar and restaurant in Philadelphia that serves burgers, oysters, beer and other American fare. The D.C. outpost will be located at 920 N St. NW in Blagden Alley, as first reported by the Philadelphia Business Journal last year. When it opens, the eatery will reportedly span 4,459 square feet, with 1,720 square feet devoted to outdoor space.
A representative of The Garces Group did not immediately provide more information when contacted by email earlier today. We’ll update this story if we learn more.
