Cops Nab Teen Wanted in Violent Columbia Heights Robbery
Police have apprehended an 18-year-old man sought in a violent robbery in Columbia Heights, authorities announced over the weekend.
Freddie Harris of Northwest D.C. resident was arrested and charged with robbery with force and violence last week in connection with the crime earlier this month.
Lawyer Elliott Queen, who is representing Harris, wasn’t immediately available to comment.
The robbery occurred on the 2800 block of 15th Street NW about 1 a.m. March 9, police said. The area is about two blocks north of Meridian Hill Park.
A group of three people punched and kicked a teenage boy before taking his backpack in the robbery.
The crime still is under investigation, according to authorities.
