Charcuterie-Centric Eatery to Open in Shaw

A restaurant focused on prepared meats and wine is coming to Shaw.

Yard & Toast is slated to open at 1541-1543 7th St. NW in the coming months, the eatery’s lawyer, Rosemarie Salguero, told Borderstan today.

A “longtime business owner” in the area is behind the restaurant, Salguero said. But she declined to identify the individual, who wasn’t immediately available to talk more about Yard & Toast. A business called Moroc & Moroc LLC is listed as the eatery’s owner in a notice published by the D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration this week.

The building that is set to house Yard & Toast includes a Dollar Plus. It wasn’t immediately clear if the convenience store would close or the restaurant would set up in another part of the building.

The ABRA notice adds that the eatery would have up to 246 seats inside and 66 seats outside.
