Police car lightPolice have apprehended two more 18-year-old men wanted in a violent robbery in Columbia Heights, authorities announced last night.

Demonte Gibson and Christopher Beckwith, both of Northwest D.C., were arrested and charged with robbery with force and violence Tuesday in connection with the crime earlier this month. The announcement came less than a week after authorities apprehended Northwest D.C. resident Freddie Harris, who also is a suspect in the robbery.

Byron Conway Jr., Gibson’s lawyer, wasn’t immediately available to comment. Veronice Holt, Beckwith’s lawyer, declined to comment.

The robbery occurred on the 2800 block of 15th Street NW about 1 a.m. March 9, police said. The area is about two blocks north of Meridian Hill Park.

A group of three people punched and kicked a teenage boy before stealing his backpack.

The teen was brought to a local hospital for treatment.
