Bartenders with blowtorches will soon forge cocktails on 19th Street.

Bonfire (1132 19th St. NW) aims to open on April 18, according to the company’s general manager, Mike Herz.

“Training is full on at Bonfire, preparing for an April opening,” a Facebook update posted on Saturday reads. “You will love what we have cooking in kitchen and mixing at the bar for you!”

When the eatery opens, it will serve “cocktails from the hearth” and American fare like bone marrow tots and duck and waffles platters, representatives for the bar told the Washington City Paper in February. And every bartender will carry a blowtorch for crafting “aged spirits in stirred cocktails incorporating fire and smoke,” bar consultant Chad Spangler told the City Paper.
