The Coupe (3415 11th St. NW) and the Columbia Heights Initiative are joining forces for a community cleanup on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 25 people who register online to assist with the spring cleaning will receive a free drink ticket for The Coupe, if they show up for the cleanup.

Following a morning of raking, sweeping and trash disposal, spring cleaning helpers will get complimentary hot dogs and chips at the Initiative’s headquarters at 3400 11th St. NW, which also will serve as the meeting place for the volunteers.

Helpers are encouraged to bring cleaning supplies, as well drinks and food to share at the cookout.

“This is the first of many more monthly clean ups and hangouts,” a Facebook event post says. “Come and join in the good clean fun!”
