Vietnamese Eatery Mimosa Restaurant Rebrands as Pho 18

A Vietnamese restaurant near the northern edge of Dupont has changed its name — again.

Mimosa Restaurant (1915 18th St. NW) is now Pho 18, according to a banner hanging over the eatery’s door. The restaurant closed for “renovations” roughly two weeks ago.

Despite the new name, the menu appears to be the same as before and includes pho, vermicelli dishes, caramelized pork with black pepper, stir fried rice with tofu and fruit smoothies.

The restaurant no longer serves alcohol, however. Mimosa Restaurant applied to place its alcohol license into safekeeping last month, according to a filing with D.C.’s Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration.

The business changed its name to Mimosa Restaurant from Plum Blossom in 2014.
