Robber Holds Up LeDroit Park Corner Store
A man with a gun robbed a corner store in LeDroit Park last night, police said.
The armed robber hit Cookie’s Corner at 1970 2nd St. NW about 9 p.m. Thursday. The shop is about two blocks east of Howard University’s campus.
The man entered the store with a gun and ordered a Cookie’s employee to give him money from a cash register, according to authorities. He then grabbed all the paper money from the register, as well as the worker’s cellphone, before fleeing.
Police are looking for:
B/M, light complexion, 5’8″, wearing an all blue Helly Hansen Jumpsuit.
A teenager also punched and robbed another teen in Adams Morgan yesterday afternoon, according to authorities.
The violent robbery happened on the 1800 block of California Street NW about 3:45 p.m. Thursday. The block is just west of the Marie Reed Recreation Center tennis courts.
The victim was walking with someone in the area when two teenagers approached them, police said. One of the teens then ordered the victim and his companion to hand over their “stuff,” while the other one punched the victim in the chest before fleeing with a cellphone, according to authorities.
Police are looking for:
(2) H/M, 16 to 18 years of age,(1) wearing a white shirt tan pants (2) black shirt and blue jeans.
