District residents mourning the loss of music legend Prince had a chance to say goodbye tonight.
Dozens of people gathered at the intersection of 14th and U streets NW around 9 p.m. this evening to dance to Prince songs played from a DJ booth in the bed of a truck.
The dance party, contained mostly to the sidewalk in front of the Reeves Center, went on for hours, according to several people in attendance.
The event aimed to give residents a place to “gather and dance together to remember the one and only,” according to its Facebook event page.
