Someone plans to open a new barbecue restaurant and live music venue in the space once intended to house a luxurious caviar lounge.
The owners of a new eatery called “Vieux Carre” have applied to serve alcohol at 1413 K St. NW, according to a recent filing with D.C.’s Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA).
The liquor license application reads:
Restaurant serving Southern-style BBQ. Requesting Entertainment Endorsement for Live Entertainment and Cover Charge. Total Occupancy Load is 350 with seating for 55. No nude Performances.
Vieux Carré, which literally means “old square” in French, is another name for the French Quarter neighborhood in New Orleans.
A representative for the forthcoming restaurant did not immediately respond to a request for comment. We’ll update this story if we hear back from them.
