Man Suspected of Burglarizing 14th Street Pizzeria Caught on Video
A man who made an after-hours appearance inside a 14th Street pizzeria last week didn’t seem to come for its pies, but rather its cash register, a new surveillance video shows.
Video police distributed today in connection with a burglary at Etto (1541 14th St. NW) features a bearded man with a winter cap removing a cash register from a counter at the restaurant about 4:30 a.m. last Wednesday.
Police today also released surveillance footage in connection with a burglary in Logan Circle earlier this month and a theft on the U Street corridor last month.
In the burglary, authorities are looking for two men suspected of entering an unlocked apartment in the Newport West Apartments (1415 Rhode Island Ave. NW) and taking a laptop on April 17 about 3:45 a.m., police said. They fled after encountering a woman, who screamed.
In the theft, authorities are searching for three men who left the CVS Pharmacy at 1000 U St. NW after one of them got into a locked display cabinet and took something on March 16 about 8:30 p.m.
