Man Injured in Knife Attack Near U Street

Someone wielding a knife attacked a man near U Street earlier this morning, according to D.C. Police.

Authorities sent out an alert that there had been an “assault with a dangerous weapon” on the 1900 block of 9th St. NW at 3:13 a.m.

According to police, a man was standing on that block when he was “approached by an unknown suspect who began assaulting him” with a knife.

Police did not say how extensive the man’s wounds were, but they added that he was taken to the hospital for a “laceration.”

Authorities haven’t released lookout information for the suspect.
