Starbucks Seeks to Serve Booze at Yet Another D.C. Location
Starbucks seeks to serve alcoholic beverages at yet another one of its locations in D.C.
The company applied for a liquor license to serve beer and wine at its location at 1600 K St. NW, according to paperwork filed with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration this week. The coffee chain also currently has pending applications to serve alcohol at several other locations across the city.
Starbucks last month rolled out its “Starbucks Evenings” service with alcohol and small plated snacks at five District locations, including on Capitol Hill and in Adams Morgan and Shaw.
But not everyone is sold on the idea of drinking something harder than coffee at Starbucks. According to Washington City Paper‘s Jessica Sidman, the whole experience is well, kind of depressing.
