Jimmy John’s Opens Sandwich Shop on U Street

The U Street corridor now has a purveyor of “freaky fast” subs.

Jimmy John’s opened its newest location at 1408 U St. NW earlier today, according to an employee in the store. The company’s menu includes sub sandwiches in slim, normal and giant styles alongside chips and cookies.

The 1,234-square-foot Jimmy John’s has seating for roughly nine customers, according to a building permit the national sandwich chain filed in January.

The new U Street location makes four D.C. locations for the company, including a shop at 1101 14th St. NW.
