Da Hong Pao Restaurant and Bar to Open on 14th Street — The forthcoming “seafood dim sum bar” now has a name. Workers yesterday installed a sign for “Da Hong Pao Restaurant and Bar” at 1409 14th St. NW.

Gay Couple Says Dupont Starbucks Manager Used Slur — A local gay couple said a manager at the Starbucks just north of Dupont Circle used a homophobic slur and assaulted one them two years ago. The couple filed a complaint with the D.C. Office of Human Rights, which determined the complaint had merit after an investigation. [WJLA]

Jack Evans, ‘King of the Shady Arrangement?’ — New documents detail the “ethical landmines” Ward 2 D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans traverses while serving on the D.C. Council, according to the Washington City Paper. Evans has reportedly “signed on with Manatt, Phelps, & Phillips–the same law firm that is home to top lobbyists who regularly sweat city officials,” the City Paper notes. Still, it’s important to note the side job doesn’t necessarily mean a conflict of interest. But it does make one wonder, says the City Paper. [Washington City Paper]
