“Rebel Without a Cause,” the classic James Dean flick, will start roughly 30 minutes after sunset tonight.

Wednesday

A Taste of Shaw
Howard Theatre (900 U St. NW)
7 p.m.

Shaw Main Streets will host a “Taste of Shaw” during its Shaw Main Streets Gala at the Howard Theatre. The event will include samples of signature food and drinks from restaurants and bars including the Columbia Room and the Passenger, Convivial, Espita Mezcaleria and Right Proper Brewing Company, among others.

Friday

Awesome Con
Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mt Vernon Pl. NW)
9 p.m.

Caped crusaders, local artists, and a smattering of celebrities will converge on the Walter E. Washington convention center this weekend for this year’s Awesome Con.

“Finding Nemo” in Columbia Heights
Tubman Elementary School Field (3101 13th St. NW)
6 p.m.

The Columbia Heights Initiative is scheduled to hold “Movie Nights in the Heights” at the Tubman Elementary School Field (3101 13th St. NW) on four Fridays in June, starting this Friday with “Finding Nemo.”

Saturday

“Awkward Sex . . . and the City”
Black Cat (1811 14th St. NW)
9 p.m.

Performers will share their most awkward and imitate sex stories in front of a live audience. Tickets are $15.

Kalorama Park Grand Reopening
Kalorama Park (Columbia and Kalorama roads NW)
11 a.m.

Locals will be able to check out the newly renovated Kalorama Park on Saturday at a reopening event that is set to include live music, workout classes and crafts for kids.
