Police Reopen Downtown Street After Suspicious Package Investigation

(Updated at 10:22 a.m.) Police closed a street downtown to investigate a suspicious package earlier this morning.

A call for a “suspicious package” came in around 9:16 a.m., authorities said. The 1900 block of M St. NW was closed for about an hour.

Police did not immediately say what triggered the investigation. We’ll update this story if we learn more.
