Capriotti’s to Sling Year’s Supply of Subs for 40th Birthday

Local Capriotti’s fans will have a shot to win a year of free sandwiches later this month.
The Delaware-based sub chain at 1800 M St. NW will celebrate the company’s 40th birthday on June 22 by slinging a year’s supply of Bobbie sandwiches to the first 100 customers who walk through the door, according to representative Shelby Lopaty.
Capriotti’s defines a year’s supply as 52 subs, or one for each week of the year.
The Bobbie, a sandwich made with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce, is rumored to be among Vice President Joe Biden’s favorite sandwiches. Biden famously visited the shop at 1800 M Street shortly after it opened in 2013.
The chain will also dole out cards worth one free sub to the next 50 guests in line and give away $2 coupons to everyone else who eats there that day.
