Locals looking to fight off stress or overcome an injury have a new place to go in Mount Pleasant.

Holistic healing center The Well opened in the Argyle Building at 3220 17th St. NW last week, owner Elizabeth Shrader told Borderstan yesterday. With a team of “healers,” some of whom speak Spanish, the center aims to provide massage therapy, acupuncture and other wellness services at “an affordable price,” she said.

The Well’s wellness sessions, which last from 30 to 90 minutes, cost from $50 to $170.

“We want to make [wellness] part of everyone’s family budget,” said Shrader, who previously ran Mt. Pleasant Massage Therapy.

The Well’s website adds:

Feeling stressed? Recovering from an injury or surgery? About to become a parent or new to parenthood? Training for an event? — then come to The Well.

We are a community of healers trained in a variety of bodywork modalities to help you regain balance, restore vitality, and address chronic or acute pain.

The center is scheduled to hold an open house with food, drink and wellness demonstrations Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.
