Police car light(Updated at 12:36 p.m. Saturday) Two people were shot near the busy 14th Street corridor late last night, according to D.C. Police

The shooting occurred on the 1300 block of Riggs St. NW at 11:10 p.m., according to authorities.

A man and a woman were walking along Riggs Street when they were struck by bullets from an unknown direction, according to a police report we obtained today.

The woman was shot in the left side of her back and the man was shot in the right forearm, authorities said in the report. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to the report.

The suspects — who police said are unknown — are presumed to have fled the scene. Police did not provide a lookout for any suspects.

Additionally, someone stabbed a man near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center early this morning, according to police.

Authorities said a man was involved in an “altercation about an Uber” on the 900 block of Massachusetts Ave. NW just after 2 a.m. last night when someone stabbed him.

The man was conscious when police arrived on the scene.

Police did not provide details on who may have stabbed the man.

  1. Not surprised. Their are some pockets of crime around U Street and Riggs has some teenagers that got gang beef and also rob for weed money.

  2. I was almost jumped by a couple of teenagers at Riggs and 13th last summer. They were throwing crab apples at us across the street and when we walked away they followed us and threw a rock at my head. Luckily one of the residents called the cops and they showed up just after they threw the rock. If it weren’t for them, we were definitely going to get jumped!
