Author Karin Tanabe is slated to talk about her novel “The Gilded Years” tomorrow. The book examines class, race and ambition during the Gilded Age.
Wednesday
Dine-N-Dash
Across D.C.
6-10 p.m.
Locals can buy tickets to experience signature dishes from restaurants such as Estadio, Birch and Barley, Doi Moi and Masa 14 during the annual Dine-N-Dash event.
Thursday
History & Hops Featuring Heurich’s Lager
Heurich House Museum (1307 New Hampshire Ave. NW)
8:30 p.m.
This event will give attendees the chance to once again sample Heurich’s Lager, the beer inspired by the famed brewer who once lived in Dupont’s Heurich House.
Saturday
Columbia Heights Day Festival
11th St. & Harriet Tubman Elementary School Field
11 a.m.-6 p.m.
This street festival celebrates diversity and community. Live music, a beer garden, local food vendors and entertainment are all slated for the event.
Shaw Open House
21 Shaw businesses
1-5 p.m.
Nearly two dozen Shaw businesses will participate in an event with free food and beer samples and a prize raffle. Discounts and special offers are also offered during the event.
