A new eatery is on track to bring breakfast sandwiches, tacos and ice cream sandwiches to 19th Street by the end of the month.
The new restaurant, Moxie’s, will open at 1020 19th St. NW the week of June 27, according to owner Marcus Barnett.
The menu at Moxie’s will include chipotle breakfast burritos, fish tacos with roasted pineapple slaw and Bahn Mi sandwiches, Barnett said.
“The tacos will be a pretty huge hit,” he added. “You can’t get them anywhere else.”
For dessert, diners can indulge in an array of ice cream sandwiches made with warm cookies, Barnett said.
The eatery will also add to a growing trend in D.C. restaurants: self service. Instead of walking up to a counter staffed by humans, Barnett said diners will place their orders on computerized kiosks.
“We’re one of the first completely self-serve restaurants in D.C.,” Barnett added. “Customers will be able to walk up to the kiosk, place their order on a touch screen, pick their ingredients… everything will be made in-house.”
