The violent robbery happened on the 2600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim was walking near Rock Creek and talking on her iPhone when two men hopped out of a red, four-door car, according to authorities. One of the men then punched the woman, knocking her to the ground and causing her to scream.
“Shut the f–k up,” the man said, according to authorities. “Gimmie your sh-t or I’ll shoot you.”
The men grabbed her purse and cellphone soon after. They then jumped into their car and drove off with another man behind the wheel.
Police haven’t released detailed descriptions of the suspects.
Authorities last night also released surveillance footage in connection with a burglary in Shaw.
The crime occurred at Calabash Tea & Tonic (1847 7th St. NW) on June 7 about 7:45 a.m., police said. The business lost cash, a cash drawer and two iPads in the heist.
The video police distributed shows a man in a baseball cap opening doors and carrying what appears to be a cash drawer.
