Food vendors will sling corn tortillas filled with meat, cheese and beans at Shrine of the Sacred Heart Church’s “PupusaFest” this Sunday starting at 8 a.m., organizers said.

Nearly 1,500 people packed the church’s parking lot near 16th St. NW and Park Road for last year’s festival, according to local arts and culture blog Hola Cultura. Parishioners reportedly sold 10,000 pupusas during the church’s blowout party roughly one year ago.

Like last year, attendees will be able to buy three pupusas for $5. Sacred Heart plans to use proceeds from the festival to fund some of its charitable programs.
