Thieves Beat, Rob Man at Gunpoint in Columbia Heights

2400 block of 14th Street NW (Photo via Google Maps)Two thieves with a gun pummeled a man and robbed him in Columbia Heights early this morning, police said.

The violent armed robbery happened on the 2400 block of 14th Street NW about 4:15 a.m. The area is about a block east of Meridian Hill Park.

The victim was walking on 14th Street when he saw a silver car with three men make a sudden U-turn, according to authorities. Two of the men jumped out of the vehicle soon after.

“Stop. Give me all you have!” one of the men told the victim, according to police.

One of the men then flashed a handgun and hit the victim in his face, knocking him down. The man with the gun and his accomplice repeatedly punched and kicked the victim soon after. One of them also pulled on the victim’s hair before they fled.

The attackers ended up with the victim’s wallet and backpack, among other items.

The victim declined medical attention.
