Man Stabbed in Neck With Screwdriver in Columbia Heights

A screwdriver-wielding assailant stabbed a man in the neck in Columbia Heights yesterday morning, police said.

The assault happened on the 1300 block of Columbia Road NW about 11:15 a.m. Thursday. The area is about a block south of the Columbia Heights Metro station.

The attacker and the victim were arguing in or near a home when the screwdriver stabbing occurred, according to authorities.

The individual with the screwdriver left the scene soon after the attack.

The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Police have arrested someone in connection with the crime. But the person’s identity wasn’t immediately clear.
