Police Looking for Vandals Who Spray Painted Cars Near H Street
A large number of cars parked near H Street were vandalized with spray paint over the weekend, according to D.C. Police and D.C. Councilmember Charles Allen.
Vandals tagged parked cars in the area of 4th, 5th, and 7th streets between H and G streets NE and also near 6th and L streets NE over the weekend, authorities told us today. At least some of the cars were spray painted with vulgar words, as seen in a photo ANC 6C Commissioner Mark Eckenwiler shared with Borderstan yesterday.
Though it was unclear exactly what time the vandals struck, police received several calls for spray painted cars yesterday morning, said spokeswoman Karimah Bilal.
Ward 6 D.C. Councilmember Charles Allen called the vandalism “very frustrating” in a tweet yesterday:
Very frustrating. Saw about 5 blocks worth of cars tagged w/ spray paint this am. ~50 cars or so. Near 700 blk L St NE & blks of 7th St NE.
