Man Stabbed to Death in Mount Pleasant
A man was killed in a “domestic-related” stabbing in Mount Pleasant early yesterday morning, police said last night.
The homicide happened on the 1800 block of Newton Street NW about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police found 32-year-old Pedro Sixto Esparragoza of Northwest D.C. with an apparent stab wound in a home just west of Bancroft Elementary School near Rock Creek Park, according to authorities. He was brought to a local hospital, where he died.
Edy Dinora Portillo Martinez, a 28-year-old Northwest D.C. resident, was arrested yesterday and charged with second degree murder while armed. Information on Martinez’s wasn’t immediately available.
