A long-awaited distillery pub will open near the intersection of 14th and U streets NW next week.
District Distilling Company (1414 U St. NW) is slated to open Friday, Aug. 26, according to a press release.
The new business will merge “a state-of-the-art craft distillery [and] retail store on the first floor, and a full-service kitchen [and] bar with seating for 140 guests on the second floor,” the release said.
Diners can expect to find “seasonal American dishes” and vodka, gin, white rum and bourbon made onsite. A walk through the company’s dinner menu reveals grilled rockfish, crispy skin suckling pig and cast iron steak.
District Distilling Company will also offer distillery tours starting next month, the company said.

Located at 1414 U Street NW, on the Southwest corner of 14th and U, the set of historic row houses situated on an 8,000sq/ft. space, combines a state-of-the-art craft distillery + retail store on the first floor, and a full-service kitchen + bar with seating for 140 guests on the second floor. The space is outfitted with several distinct rooms that can accommodate private events for groups up to 170 people.
The kitchen will serve seasonal American dishes and the bar will feature products from leading craft distilleries and breweries throughout the U.S as well as a handpicked wine list.

Chae is joined by Head Distiller, Matthew Strickland; Executive Chef, Justin Bittner; Kitchen + Bar General Manager, Said Haddad; and Retail and Special Events Manager, Kerri Welsh.
District Distilling Co. will serve their premiere vodka, gin, white rum and bourbon onsite in the upcoming weeks and bottles will be available for purchase in September. Additional spirits will be released on an ongoing basis throughout the fall and 2017.
The Kitchen + Bar is now accepting dinner reservations for August 26 onward with brunch service soon to follow. Distillery tours will be offered in September.
