New Gay Bar The Dirty Goose to Land on U Street This Week
A new LGBT-friendly bar is set to make its debut on the U Street corridor in the coming days.
The Dirty Goose at 913 U St. NW is scheduled to have its grand opening Thursday, co-owner Daniel Honeycutt told Borderstan today. The bar is within a block of gay club Town Danceboutique and Nellie’s Sports Bar, which often holds LGBT events.
A post on the new watering hole’s Facebook page adds:
Birds of a Feather will ACTUALLY Drink (and Eat) Together! THIS THURSDAY. Start your weekend early at The Dirty Goose for our Grand Opening and stay for the weekend party. We have two seasons of fun to make up for and we scheduled accordingly:
Thursday – DJ Matt Bailer
Friday – DJ Shea Van Horn
Saturday – DJ Khelan from BreakfastClub
Almost forgot. BRUNCH. BOTTOMLESS. Saturday & Sunday 11am – 2:30pm. You can make reservations at www.TheDirtyGooseDC.com or just walk-in!
The bar, which initially was slated to open in the spring, has about a dozen specialty cocktails, including a Grey Goose vodka Dirty Goose martini, a Godiva chocolate martini and a “New Old Fashioned” with Kentucky bourbon and orange-infused sweet tea. Burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads are on the menu for dinner, while eggs Benedict and a vegetable omelet are among the meals available for brunch on weekends.
“Come enjoy our variety of signature martinis, craft cocktails, delicious food, and hometown hospitality,” The Dirty Goose’s website says. “Located in the heart of DC’s U-Street Corridor, The Dirty Goose Bar and Restaurant embodies the energy of New York City with the laid back atmosphere of Atlanta. Come enjoy our premium craft cocktails and southern inspired cuisine.”
