UPDATED: Pedestrian Killed in West End Hit-and-Run Car Crash

(Updated at 12:20 p.m.) A 29-year-old man died after someone in a car ran into him and drove off in West End this morning, police said.

The fatal hit-and-run crash occurred at New Hampshire Avenue and M Street NW about 2:45 a.m. The area is between Washington and Dupont circles NW.

The pedestrian, whom police identified as David Narvaez of Arlington, was brought to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Narvaez was crossing the street at the intersection when the driver hit him.

Police are looking for a dark colored vehicle (pictured above) in connection with the crash.

The collision came a day after a deadly car crash in Shaw.

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking anyone with information about this case to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
