Two Men Injured in Separate Stabbings in Adams Morgan
Two men were stabbed in separate attacks in Adams Morgan early this morning, police said.
The stabbings happened on the 1700 block of Columbia Road NW and on the 2800 block of 16th Street NW.
In the Columbia Road crime, someone hit the victim in the head with a rock and stabbed him in the back after he left My Canton Restaurant about 1:15 a.m., according to authorities. People were fighting outside My Canton before the victim left the eatery.
The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment.
Police haven’t released a description of the suspect, who fled on a bicycle.
On 16th Street, a man stabbed the victim in a gang-related assault about 2:45 a.m., according to authorities. The attacker and two other men first stopped the victim on the 1600 block of Columbia Road to ask him he was a member of MS-13, a criminal group founded in Los Angeles.
The victim refused to respond and pedaled away on a bicycle. But the three other men chased after him on bicycles, eventually surrounding him on 16th Street.
The men pursuing the victim then pulled out knives. One of them stabbed the victim in his arm soon after.
The victim was eventually able to get away on his bicycle and flag down a police officer. The injured man declined medical attention, however.
Police haven’t distributed detailed descriptions of the suspects.
Authorities have found no indication that the stabbings are connected, police spokeswoman Aquita Brown told Borderstan.
