The event will bring music, giveaways and a free barre fitness class to the northern end of the park on Sept. 17, according to barre3 owner Alicia Sokol. The gathering is a way for locals to become acquainted with the barre fitness style without paying for a class, Sokol said.
Over the course of an hour, attendees of all fitness levels will practice “low impact” exercises and postures designed get their heart rates up.
“It’s always a little intimidating to go to a new fitness place,” Sokol said. “This is an easy, friendly, no-commitment way to see what our workout is like and meet some of our team.”
The event will also include free snacks, water and a giveaway where attendees can score apparel and accessories.
“We just thought it would be a fun way to bring together the community,” Sokol added.
Those interested in participating in the event are encouraged to bring a water bottle, a towel and a yoga mat. Additionally, attendees must RSVP and sign a waiver prior to the workout.
