A Chinese restaurant in Truxton Circle went up in flames after a fire broke out there early this morning.
The fire began in the kitchen of Eastern Carryout (1532 North Capitol St. NW) some time before 1:30 a.m. this morning, according to D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Vito Maggiolo. By the time the fire department arrived, the blaze had spread to the building’s vacant second floor.

Bright flames were seen shooting from the building in a video shared by the fire department around 2:20 a.m. this morning. Fire crews got the blaze under control a half hour later.
Nobody was injured in the fire, which has been ruled accidental, Maggiolo said.
