The Black Squirrel at 2427 18th St. NW is set to hold its Eighth Annual Smashing Pumpkin Beer Fest with 14 pumpkin beers and other food made with the gourd Friday, starting at 5 p.m., owner Amy Bowman said.

Along with pumpkin soup, pumpkin veggie burgers and pumpkin mac and cheese, the menu includes:

• 21st Amendment He Said Pumpkin Triple (8.2%, San Francisco, California)
• Anderson Valley Pinchy Jeek Barl Wild Turkey Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Pumpkin Ale (8.5%, Boonville, California)
• Aviator PumpkinBeast Marzen-Infused Pumpkin Lager (6.2%, Fuquay Varina, North Carolina)
• Ballast Point Pumpkin Down Scottish Ale (5.8%, San Diego, CA)
• Blue Mountain Spooky Bourbon-Barrel Aged Pumpkin Ale (8.2%, Afton, Virginia)
