Man Sought in NoMa-Area Shooting Appears in Video

A surveillance camera has caught a man wanted in a shooting that injured another man near Truxton Circle and NoMa last week, police said.

The attack occurred on the 1100 block of Sursum Corda Court NW about 4 a.m. last Thursday, Oct. 20. The area is surrounded by the Sursum Corda low-income housing cooperative between North Capitol and 1st streets NW.

The victim was shot multiple times, including at least once in his leg, according to authorities. He was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Video police distributed today in connection with the crime shows a man walking and later running on a sidewalk in a residential area.

Three days later, on Sunday, Oct. 23, another person was shot near the scene of the first shooting. It isn’t clear whether the crimes are connected.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent offense committed in the District of Columbia.
