During the event, canines can wade into the hotel’s heated outdoor pool to frolic and swim around before the pool shuts down for the season. The party will also include free apple cider and dog treats.
Each year, the swim day attracts between 75 and 125 dogs, according to Sarah Cook, a special events manager for the Humane Rescue Alliance.
“The Hilton shuts down their pool for the winter, and on the last day they have the pool open, they invite dogs around the neighborhood to come and enjoy the pool,” Cook said. “It’s just a fun way for people to come spend a Saturday afternoon.”
Though the Dog Dip is free, attendees are encouraged to pitch in at least $5. Last year’s swim day raised about $700 for the good cause.
