Fantom Comics Election Watch

The comic book shop will celebrate election night with a watch party that includes free wine and a Wonder Woman costume contest. All proceeds from the event will go toward benefitting local organization Collective Action for Safe Spaces.

The National Cannabis Festival is inviting all “Nasty Women, Deplorables and Hombres” to this election night party. The election-watching event will include a taco bar and happy hour specials.
Elect The Truth

ChurchKey will serve six different versions of Flying Dog’s beer, The Truth, “including five, one-off, specialty casks.”

District Improv Festival

The 2016 District Improv Festival kicks off its four-day lineup of comedy shows with a performance from three local groups. The festival runs through Saturday.
Big Board Beer School

Atlas Brew Works is slated to walk patrons through the ins and outs of brewing beer. The event costs $30 and includes six half-pours, one full pint, snacks and “brewery swag.”
Mt. Pleasant Library (3160 16th St. NW)
This monthly workshop from DC Zinefest gives locals a chance to try their hand at making small-press comics and zines.

Meet Up With Mendo

D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson is scheduled to meet up with residents to talk about Ward 1.
Chicken Crawl 5K
Glen’s Garden Market Dupont (2001 S St. NW)
Tickets, which cost $10 online, include a local craft brew or a non-alcoholic local apple cider and help support Martha’s Table, which provides food to homeless locals and other people in need. Glen’s also will have food samples from its Thanksgiving menu available after the 5K.
