Tuesday

HER Resiliency Center Fundraiser
Trim Salon (2700 Ontario Road NW)
6-8 p.m.

Attendees can enjoy drinks and light refreshments while learning about HER, a resiliency center aimed at helping women in need. Tickets are $40.

Wednesday

Metropolis Screening
Constellation Theatre Company (1835 14th St. NW)
7:30 p.m.

The Constellation Theatre Company is scheduled to screen the famous Fritz Lang science fiction film “Metropolis” four nights this week. The screenings will be accompanied by an original score from musician and educator Tom Teasley.

Thursday

History and Hops
Heurich House (1307 New Hampshire Ave. NW)
6:30-8:30 p.m.

The event includes snacks and a tasting of three beers form Alexandria’s Port City Brewing Company. Tickets are $30.

Friday

Trans and GenderQueer Game Night
The D.C. Center (2000 14th St. NW, suite 105)
7-9 p.m.

Locals gather to play cards and board games during this monthly game night. Those interested in going to the event can also bring their own games, organizers said.

Saturday

Plaid Ride
BicycleSPACE (440 K St. NW)
11:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Cyclists clad in plaid are scheduled to roll down District streets this weekend. The ride departs at noon and ends up at Bardo (1200 Bladensburg Road NE).

4th Annual Double Denim Bar Crawl
Dupont Circle neighborhood
1-7 p.m.

Jean jackets, overalls and jean shorts will be fashionable during this bar crawl. Tickets cost $30.

Sunday

NaNoWriMo Comics Writing Workshop
Fantom Comics (2010 P St. NW)
2-5 p.m.

Fantom comic staffers will lead budding writers through the ins and outs of penning comic books for National Novel Writing Month.

Pretty Boi Brunch Presents #PrettyBoiSundayService
The Bier Baron Tavern (1523 22nd St. NW)
2-5 p.m.

Eat brunch while watching drag kings strut their stuff at this Columbia Heights bar and restaurant. “Pastor Reverend Chris Jay will once again give you life during this spiritually uplifting drag king show,” organizers said. Tickets cost $20 or $25 at the door.
