The 10th annual “Brickies,” which is set for next month, will have neighbor, community organization, business, public service and civic pride awards recognizing work done in NoMa, Shaw, the H Street corridor and other parts of Ward 6.

Locals can make nominations online.

Last year, the winners included ANC 6E commissioner Rachelle Nigro (with the Neighbor Award), Eastern High School principal Rachel Skerritt (with the Public Service Award), Hill’s Kitchen on Capitol Hill (with the Business Award), the Southwest Neighborhood Assembly (with the Community Organization Award) and D.C. Public Library (with the Civic Pride Award).

“Nine years ago, we began this annual celebration of the people, places, and organizations that make our community great,” Allen said in an email to locals. “It’s a tradition I’m excited to continue.”

Allen is slated to dole out the awards at the The Apollo (600 H St. NE) on Dec. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. Locals can RSVP for the free event online.
