Black Lives Matter Benefit
Songbyrd Music House and Record Cafe (2477-2475 18th St. NW)

Comedians and musicians will help raise money for the local Black Lives Matter chapter.


U Street Music Hall (1115 U St. NW)
7 p.m.

The indie go-go band from Reston is scheduled to perform at the U Street music venue.

Thanksgiving Eve Party
Service Bar (928 U St. NW)
9 p.m.-3 a.m.

The newly opened U Street bar will celebrate “Black Wednesday” with whiskey and DJs spinning tunes. The following day, on Thanksgiving, the bar will host a coat drive.

Do You Need a Hug?
Rendezvous Lounge (2226 18th St. NW)
8-10 p.m.

Comedians in need of a hug are slated to try out their best “sad sack bummertown cry on a bus” jokes during this Adams Morgan show.


Black Friday Comedy Blackout
The Bier Baron Tavern (1523 22nd St. NW)
8 p.m.

Instead of shopping, these performers hope you attend their Thanksgiving-themed comedy event. 


Shaw Holiday Tree Lighting
City Market at O (800 P St. NW)
1-5 p.m.

The tree-lighting ceremony will include live music, “electric train rides,” a moon bounce, ice sculpting and face painting. Then, at 5 p.m. sharp, local officials and business community representatives will light up the huge holiday display.


Shakespeare in the Pub: Pericles
The Pinch (3548 14th St. NW)
7:30 p.m.

An all-female cast will perform Shakespeare’s “Pericles” at The Pinch as part of a monthly series called “Shakespeare in the Pub.”
