The armed robbery occurred on the 2900 block of Georgia Avenue NW about 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

The victim was walking about a block north of the Howard University campus when three masked men came up to him, according to authorities. One of the men then ordered the victim to hand over his belongings, but he declined.

The men soon after blocked the man’s path, and one of them pulled out a handgun. The man with the gun eventually grabbed the victim’s wallet and fled with his accomplices.

Police haven’t released detailed descriptions of the suspects.

A man also used a pole to damage a Dupont Circle nightclub’s glass front door before he was put into a submission hold that knocked him unconscious over the weekend, according to authorities.

The incident happened outside Kabin (1337 Connecticut Ave. NW) about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The man got mad after he was forced to leave the club, police said. Once outside, he picked up a post used to hold up rope for crowd control, hitting Kabin’s front door with it. The man then tried to whack someone with the stanchion, but missed.

The man’s target soon after used a submission hold on him, causing him to lose consciousness.

The man was arrested and brought to a local hospital for treatment. He faces misdemeanor charges, according to authorities.

A Kabin representative declined to comment.
